The secret of the perfect book: a heartfelt recommendation

They say that everything happens for a reason... Although in hindsight, I wish I had chosen General Printing in the first place! Had I done so, I would have saved myself a lot of stress about the first printer, and the Beginner's Guide to Canning would have been published at least a month earlier. But for some reason this journey had to happen this way, and I am now very grateful for it. 

When I was looking for a printer for my book, I emailed a lot of places. The General Printing House was physically far away, but I thought it was worth a try. And how right I was! From the very first email exchange, I knew I was in the right place. Imre was incredibly kind, sent me a quote in a flash and answered all my questions promptly and patiently.

As anyone who has tried it knows, private publishing is always the hard way. You have to do everything yourself, figure it out, write it. That's why it's invaluable to get real, knowledgeable professional help from the printer. I've approached them with the material fully finished, written and edited by me, but for a book, a professional graphic designer is essential, who can go over things with a printer's eye and make sure they fit.
