A dream come true - Why and how was the Beginner's Guide to Cheese Making born?

I never thought I would write this sentence: I published my first book. When the crisp, fresh-smelling 3D lacquered books arrived from the printers, time stood still for a moment.

I'm not a baker, and that's the point. When I started sourcing, I read a lot of technical material. My head was buzzing with percentages and complicated terms, and I often felt it was too much for me. Over the years, at the cost of a lot of messed up dough and wonderfully made loaves, I developed my own home system. I've put that clear, logical, step-by-step system into this book. It's deliberately titled and sized as a 'Handbook': I want it to lie beside you on the flour counter and serve as a practical guide.

My Mum's legacy: This book would not have been possible without a very important person: my dear Mama. She was the one who showed me that making food is the most beautiful form of caring. This book is a tribute to her memory. That's why, in addition to the 19 super sourdough recipes (from crusty bread to beans), I've included 3 real treasures: my Mum's inimitable hand-stretched strudel recipe, my own favourite pumpkin syrup, and oven-baked plum pudding.

The experience I want to give: For me, quality is important not only in the content but also in the presentation. When you order a book, I don't just throw it in an envelope. I fold each copy in snow-white tissue paper, bind it with the KovászTaerie ribbon and seal it with a real wax seal. I hide a handmade macramé bookmark and a card next to it.
