Ingredients
  

  • 130 g honey
  • 1 package gingerbread spice mix
  • 150 g butter or margarine
  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 db Egg all
  • 1/2 orange or lemon juice
  • 500 g flour
  • 50 g sourdough

Instructions
 

  • Measure the honey into a saucepan, add the gingerbread spice mix and start heating. Add the butter and when melted, leave to cool.
  • In another bowl, mix the sugar with the eggs. Squeeze in the juice of an orange or lemon.
  • In a third bowl, measure out the flour, add the sugar and egg mixture, the leaven and the honey mixture and knead. Wrap in cellophane and refrigerate for a few hours.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough, cut it into shapes of your choice.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes on the top and bottom baking programmes (oven dependent).
  • Then you can decorate. I store them in an airtight container, so they stay soft and smooth.
